In my work I use Video and interactive to present a non-linear narative by testing and redefining the relationships between time – place – image – voice – words, as a part of the wish to create the total experience for the audience. Of cource, no matter how much the voyager will try to include everything, something will always be missing. The absent is as important as what is present.
Two lines from the work of Yona Wallach, prominent 20th-century Israeli poet, stand out in my mind, as a perfect description of Cyberstory:
“As much as you split the world in two,
/the world will split you into two in return.” (Yona Volach, from the poem “Another Bourgeois” – is referring to the different between men and women).
Each element is composed of far more than just two parts: The conventional sequence of beginning - middle - ending that modernism got us used to is transformed into new models such as the “Rhizome”- a tuber root system in which any point may be connected to any other point. The cancellation of the hierarchy order and the creation of unbounded network made of infinite points linked to each other bring the storytelling back to life.
